This is a beautiful chair cushion/ seat pad handmade from vintage hand stitched Kantha quilt with a high loft polyester filling.
Every Kantha Quilt is one of kind, we make a small handful of cushions from each quilt meaning every cushion will be completely unique. Due to this colours/ designs can vary slightly as they were made from different parts of the same quilt.
What is Kantha?
Kantha quilts are made using numerous layers of recycled silk or cotton saris which are hand stitched in the traditional Bengal style called Kantha. What originated as a cost effect way to produce warm blankets has developed over the years into a beautiful art form, creating truly unique one off designs.
